I have 20 years of product design and UX experience, 17 years at Fortune 100’s, and 8 years as an executive-level partner.  I’m a veteran in Design Strategy and have helped optimize design of $-Billions in product and services.

I pride myself in enabling those around me and owe much of my success to the relationships. My time spent on collaborative and diverse teams helped me develop a sense of responsibility in mentorship and sharing my knowledge with those who might succeed me. KITEWORKS (2022-curr)


Head of Design, Principal Designer, Jan 2022-curr:

  • I lead design strategy for Kiteworks’ Private Content Network (infrastructure-as-a-service, IaaS) and design-implementation of core corporate growth initiatives: NIST cybersecurity tenets governing content/file movement and exposure, GRC audit and risk management, platform stability, growth & adoption, PLG, and automation (managed file transfer).

  • In a Player-Coach role with a team of two senior designers, I perform design-ops, administer the multi-platform design system, and administer the UXR program and activity.

  • Influenced corporate utilization of the design discipline via partnerships with Sales and Customer Success, leading to UX insights that broadened the Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) of our primary initiative (NIST) by 5x.

  • Moved the design practice from a reactionary service to a proactive partner addressing systemic “experience debt” across prioritized end-user and platform-admin tasks; adoption rates have risen +50% over previous 3-yr avg.

  • Inserted UX staff into sales and customer account activity to create paths for UX research, establishing a participant pool of 73 users for continuous user testing.

  • Resolved product usability issues resulting in a lower overall cost-to-serve via 3% fewer Support tickets (~276 support hours/yr); “Each 1% of cases you’ve reduced has given my team ~92hrs of productivity back” -VP Technical Support.

 

HONEYWELL AEROSPACE (2014-2021)


Director of UX. Design partner to General Management and business leads working electric, hydrogen, and hybrid propulsion product applications:

  • Managed an international team (UXR, IxD, Service Design) and guided the full gamut of UX-execution for product design, influencing both identification of new-product opportunity and their development.

  • I orchestrated customer “needs discovery” research to inform product visions, customer-centric business case and willingness to pay, and inject user-centricity into company growth initiatives. My efforts directly created ~$218M of opportunity in the 2021-22 development pipeline.

  • Paved paths for design staff to career transition into Honeywell’s “offering management” (product/service development) roles.

Principal Design Leader for Honeywell’s Chief Experience Office (CXO) overseeing design of $4.5B in service and support channels and 25 web apps and enterprise tools. 

  • Via service design of ISC product repair & overhaul services, I helped cross-functionally to unlock $100M in market whitespace during the Covid-era economy decline.

  • Improved configurable-software commerce by reducing purchase & delivery cycle-time by 99.2% (24-days to 15min) and order-to-cash by ~21% via design for customer self-service. 

  • Led design of Honeywell Corporate’s digital transformation and CX program addressing 300+ websites and customer portals (service and commerce) across the corporation.

  • Fostered skill development of 80+ CX and design staff.

UX Lead of Digital Strategy from Feb 2015 to Mar 2019, on leading design for Honeywell’s cross-enterprise digital transformation initiative to drive growth & adoption of digital tools and channels internally and externally:

  • Design for e-Commerce facilitating adoption of $400M to $2.1B. Support tools saw +18% CX agent productivity. Customer channels saw +21% avg in CSAT and led to ~$3.4M/yr in operations cost-avoidance through design for self-service.

  • Design of digital tools for CX and engineering facilitated $1.2M/yr in cost avoidance and user-effort reduction of %86.

  • Co-founder and experience-strategist for GoDirectTrade, an aerospace marketplace and Honeywell-intraneural startup; disrupting the used-aerospace-parts industry with a 95% reduction in user-effort and won 1st-place for DMI’s Business Impact awards.

Interim Head of Design for BendixKing; paved paths for utilization of design and UXR staff.  Oversaw design of Honeywell’s 1st touch-screen autopilot, improved ISC repair & overhaul SLA by 19%, optimized B2B2C sales channels for user-centricity, led development of their 1st design system.

SENIOR UX Designer, 2014-2015: product designer on Honeywell’s IoT Connected Aircraft program

  • Leading engineering and business teams through journey workshops to identify product gaps, then performing ethnographic research and converting insights into user-centered designs. Created lo- and hi-fidelity prototypes to test with users and inform final, intuitive production designs.
